1. Who we are

AlignedGC is operated by CharlesJoseph Ltd. We provide construction management software.

2. Your company and our role

The construction company using AlignedGC decides what information is collected about its workers and why. We hold that information on its behalf. Workers with questions about their own records should ask their employer first.

3. Information we collect

We hold account details and project information entered by the company. This includes time and attendance, signatures, photographs of work, safety records, talks and acknowledgements, training and competency records, receipts and costs. Basic technical information, such as IP address and browser, is used for security.

4. Shared site devices

Some companies use a shared work device that stays on the project. Where a site boundary is set, it is used only to remind someone to take photographs of work while on site. It is not used to track individuals and is not tied to anyone’s personal phone.

5. How information is used

We use information to run the service. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising.

6. Who can see it

Company records are available to authorised people in the company they belong to. Separation between companies is enforced in the database, not just hidden in the screens. Authorised platform administrators may access records when needed to operate or support the service. A company may also make selected site information available through a revocable site board link.

7. Retention and deletion

Companies set their retention period. The default is seven years, because employment, safety and funding records must be retained. During that period, a protected record can be corrected. The original values and the correction are kept in the history, with a reason for required corrections. A record can also be voided so it no longer counts. Protected records are not erased. This is deliberate: a safety or payroll record that can vanish is worth nothing in a dispute or an audit. After the retention period, a company may request that its workspace and records be deleted. Records are not automatically deleted when the period ends.

8. Access and corrections

A person may ask to see the information held about them and to have errors corrected. Workers should ask their employer. Companies can contact us through the in-app contact form.

9. Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Company access is controlled in the database. Important changes are recorded. Read our security overview for more detail.
